I Realize This Won’t Be My Most Popular Blog Ever, And I’m Fine With That! Stop Wasting Your Time!

To me it seems people are just completely full of contradictions! Some may say how they don’t have time to get things done, but that same person will later say how it’s “time to watch the game,” or how they’re either doing great or not so great in their “Fantasty Sports” league.  I mean really, fantasy sports? What are we, twelve years old?

It is no hidden fact that I simply don’t care whatsoever for sports.  If you ask me sports are a great way to get exercise, but what is the point of watching them?  You have people out there that know the names of each quarterback for each team, can tell you how many yards some running back ran the last few seasons, but don’t get why they aren’t reaching their goals or don’t have the time to grow their business.  It’s almost unbelievable to me!

GETABRAIN

I’m not just going to single out sports fans, but I see a lot of other ways which people are wasting their time as well.  First and foremost, cable and movies!  It has now been several years since I cancelled my cable and I have never looked back.  With the Internet these days you can search and find pretty much ANYTHING you want to watch, at no additional cost other than paying for your Internet service.  For example shows on NBC, CBS, History Channel, Comedy Central, and others can all be found on their website.  During the shows advertisements are shown, but MANY less than you see on cable!  Some may argue that you have to watch it on your laptop or desktop, but simply not true these days!  You can hook it up to your HDTV with an HDMI cable and it’s the same experience, actually, I believe it’s much better! Can’t afford an HDTV or an HDMI cable? You will be able to if you don’t spend $100 or more each month on some bullshit cable service!

Certain, and actually these days MOST, Blu-Ray players also come with built in streaming capabilities.  We’re talking apps that stream FREE movies, music, a YouTube app which you can search anything you wish, movie trailers, you name it.

Back when I actually had cable television I often found myself laying around, being an absolute bum, “channel surfing.”  Every now and then I do catch a show these days, but let me tell you, not often at all.  In the last month for example, I can’t recall one television show which I have watched.  These days I limit myself to certain podcasts & YouTube content, all with the intent of learning things to help grow and enhance my business.

The only service I do still pay for is Netflix.  I don’t do the streaming, as to me that’s just another way to hold yourself back.  I simply get one DVD/Blu-Ray at a time in the mail, and enjoy those with my girlfriend.  She is still a big consumer of content, and really enjoys watching “crime shows,” again something I don’t get, but I realize I can’t change everyone completely!  However we do save the money as she’s smart enough to watch those via their websites!  Thanks to Netflix we save even more money as we hardly ever go to movie theaters anymore, we just simply wait for them to be released on Blu-Ray which these days doesn’t take too long.  A good example is the last movie we watched, “The Dark Knight Rises.”  Netflix also offers television shows on DVD/Blu-Ray, and a good example of that is our favorite show, and pretty much the only one we watch together, “Dexter.”

My intention of this blog post is again not to bash ANYONE, but simply attempt to help some understand what I consider to be their “mistakes.”  If you cancel your cable, you will save tons of money, and as long as you have an Internet service you will still be able to obtain the same content.  Not even to mention the fact that you won’t be getting the media’s propaganda shoved down your throats, but that’s another blog all together!

As far as sports, I do realize I am in the minority, but based on the simple facts of what I have been able to accomplish because of not watching them, I feel the need to share my opinions.  If you are a die hard sports fan I don’t expect this blog to change that one bit.  I do however hope it helps you realize exactly WHY you aren’t achieving certain goals, why you THINK you don’t have enough time to accomplish things, and to simply HOPE it helps some stop complaining and blaming other causes or people!

In closing, YOUR problem as to why your dreams aren’t being reached, get this, is most likely YOU!

52weekmoneychallenge

This is a pretty good way to put back some extra money in 2013 to perhaps reach an extra goal at the end of the year or even take a trip, IF you’re persistent with it and DON’T keep taking money out throughout the year! GOOD LUCK!
