Getting Some Stuff Ready For Booths! Thinking of Summer… Back to Work!

How’s it going guys?!

taggingpostcardsI hope you are all well.  I am just getting a lot of work in the office done today.  Earlier I put up some eBay listings, tagged a lot of post cards (newer & older), and tagged some other odds and ends including the Yuengling poster I got last week.  Now it’s about time to tag some more smalls, and take some more pictures for more online listings!  Always busy in this business.

Tomorrow and the next few days I’ll be in all the booths.  Will still have a lot more to do in the office as well. Trying to get some stuff out the door and get ready for the next auction!

I think I am going to take some time tonight to look into some new places I’d like to travel to.  Not even so far, but little road trips here and there with my girlfriend.  I love just getting on the road, and it’s been a while since I’ve taken a “random” trip.  As this Summer looms ahead I’ll be looking into my regular July trip as well. Can’t wait.

Thanks for reading guys, and back to the tagging :)

“Facts about Warren Buffet

1) Warren bought his first share at age 11
and he now regrets that he started too late!
2) He bought a small farm at age 14 with
savings from delivering newspapers.
3) He still lives in the same small 3
bedroom house in mid-town Omaha, that
he bought after he got married 50 years
ago. He says that he has everything he
needs in that house.
4) He drives his own car everywhere and
does not have a driver or security people
around him.
5) He never travels by private jet, although
he owns the world’s largest private jet
company.
6) His company, Berkshire Hathaway,
owns 63 companies. He writes only one
letter each year to the CEOs of these
companies, giving them goals for the year.
He never holds meetings or calls them on a
regular basis.
7) Warren Buffet has given his CEO’s only
two rules.
Rule number 1: Do not lose any of your
share holder’s money.
Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number
1.
8) He does not socialize with the high
society crowd. His past time after he gets
home is to make himself some pop corn
and watch television.
9) Bill Gates, the world’s richest man met
him for the first time only 5 years ago. Bill
Gates did not think he had anything in
common with Warren Buffet. So he had
scheduled his meeting only for half hour.
But when Gates met him, the meeting
lasted for ten hours and Bill Gates became
a devotee of Warren Buffet.
10) Warren Buffet does not carry a cell
phone, nor has a computer on his desk.
11) His advice to young people: Stay away
from credit cards and invest in yourself.
12) He has donated $31 billion (85% of his
fortune) to charity.”

GOOD DAY! & One Month of Every Day Blogging in 2013 is Complete!

How’s it going everyone?!

I had a great day today with my Mom going into my one booth at Roller Mills Antiques and refreshing the booth.  Also shopping around Lewisburg a bit, having dinner, and looking around other thrift/junk shops.  Now I’m home, relaxing the rest of the evening after posting this, and getting ready to possibly hit an auction tomorrow!  Just looked at the pictures for the one I was most excited for, and nothing really to phone home about.  Perhaps I will find a different one.  Regardless beforehand I have to go pay my rents at my booths at Plaza Centre & Big Valley.  Should be a fun morning!

Also since today is the 31st and end of January, that makes me one month down on my goal of blogging EVERY day here on BrentOtt.com… it’s been fun so far! Lots of ideas yet to make happen!

I figured I’d leave you with some cell phone shots of some recent things I’ve been finding/thought were cool… ENJOY!  I’ll check back in tomorrow morning, or after my day of travel.  HAPPY FEBRUARY!

In The Trenches And Feeling Oh So Good!

Throughout my life I’ve always faced challenges head on.  I’ve always faced adversities head on.  Not once have I taken the easy way out, or backed down from anything. As a matter of fact, I thrive off the stress and uncertainty that a challenge of any sort brings.

Right now I am finding myself laughing on both the inside and out for a variety of reasons, about a variety of different things.  None of these things even deserve further comment.  As for all these “things,” I would like to simply thank everyone who has been in touch with me.  Everyone who has showed support through Email, YouTube messages, Facebook messages, everywhere.  Bottom line is that there’s nothing going on “around here” other than business as usual!

cannabisI’m going to keep being myself, keep getting money, and keep growing.  It’s funny, I don’t think you ever quite KNOW where you are going without uncertainty, or know that you can’t fail, until you hit a point of rock bottom within your life.  For me I hit that point back in 2004 with a marijuana case, which I don’t speak on too often.  I stand firmly behind the legalization/decriminalization of marijuana, and always will.  Perhaps it’s something I will get into further in a coming post.  It’s because of that point of hitting bottom that I am the man who I am today, why I have the goals I do, why I’ve arrived at the point I am at today, and why I truly KNOW for a fact that I have more hustle in my left nut than most of these other guys have in their entire bodies.

Someone pointed out to me recently that I don’t have to say anything, I literally have “binders” of credibility, which I thought was a very valuable point.  I’m not hiding behind anything, as is evident with my Internet presence from the last few years.

With these next few coming days comes a lot for me.  I’ll be heading out to another auction (or two!), getting in to work on the co-op booths, doing some eBay & Etsy listing, and filming/work for my upcoming “Project X” show/podcast.  It looks as though I’ll actually be picking up a new camera this weekend as well, which is super exciting!  Always fun to get to play around with new technology.  One thing that is on the back of my head right now is this year’s OUP Photography Tour, which I am always excited about.  As of right now I don’t have all the details, but it’s always a blast.  Last year the OUP Photography Tour took me to St. Louis, Nashville, Cincinnati, all over the place, and I’m sure this year will be much the same.

In addition to all these and other things, “Trash Talk & Treasures” is in the process of getting better and better.  I’ll be working out the details with some good people, but rest assured that the often imitated, NEVER duplicated fun that is TTT won’t be going anywhere, ANYTIME soon.  As I said we’ll just be getting better!  I’m not going to give anything away just yet but you can count on learning a lot more, and getting a lot more out of TTT in the future.  I’m seeing a lot of bullshit out there, which is expected, but not something I’m proud to say I stand behind.

I’m really starting to enjoy doing these posts here on BrentOtt.com more and more, and I’m very appreciative that you guys have enjoyed reading them.  I appreciate all the comments, views, and of course all the viewers who have in turn checked out my other projects/sites/blogs, etc… As always, if there is ANYTHING I can help you with or anything you would like to get ahold of me for simply email brent@ounitproductions.com

Thanks guys, and I’ll check back in soon!

How Am I Feeling Today??! Hmmm, This Blog Post Should Be Good!

Sometimes in life we get caught up.  Caught up in something fun, in something which gets us exposure on a variety of levels, or even just simply caught up in life’s daily happenings.  It takes true skill to be able to take the time to sit back, and really see what is going on in a grander scale, which is extremely crucial to your overall success.

The first point I want to make in today’s blog, is no matter WHAT you are doing business-wise, you need to remember to follow the money.  As you get into different avenues, whether retail-related, sources of advertising revenues, or whatever the case, you truly need to closely track them and see what is working, and what isn’t.  It’s very easy to be stubborn and stick with something because you ENJOY doing it, and not necessarily because it is making money.  What is the point of putting your full effort into something if you’re not cashing in on it, or at least working towards the goals of cashing in on it?

I am not afraid to fail, which is the main reason which I constantly try new things.  It’s my strong opinion that most people are scared to death to fail, which is why they will never truly succeed.

YouTubeTROLLAnother big thing on my mind today are “haters” and “trolls,” which show up in a variety of places such as YouTube, Facebook comments, ALL over Social Media and the Internet.  It’s an absolute waste of time and it’s honestly funny to me how someone can spend the time bashing someone else’s success/project or whatever the case, and they don’t realize that they themselves are getting NOTHING accomplished in the meanwhile.

Is it alright for someone to bash someone else in an attempt to gain their audience or grow their own brand?  In my opinion absolutely not, and it’s not a practice I would ever be a part of, but the World is filled with those who do that exact same thing.  My best advice to give you all right now is just simply continue to be yourself, continue to put out content that YOU are proud of, and constantly grow.  Don’t be afraid to try new things and fail. Don’t worry about what the “haters” are saying.  Simply wake up each and every day and try your best to reach your dreams, without becoming a negative force which eats at others who have achieved some of the success you desire.

If only the World were this simple…

I am in a good mood right now, for those wondering, just a lot on my plate right now and dealing with some childish antics, but I feel that I’m above giving any other response other than this little opinion-filled blog post.  Hope you were able to grab something useful out of it!

Enjoy your day, reach for your dreams, and hopefully you get THAT much closer to grabbing them.  Don’t stress any negative doubters, haters, or ANY of the above!  Never forget that the only person who knows where you are going, or has any of idea of where you may be going, is YOU.

Bubbling Below The Radar, and STILL Making It Happen!

Good morning folks!

AUCTIONimageI had visions of putting together a few different blogs this morning, however something came up last minute.  I’m going to be hitting the road and heading to two different auctions.  I havn’t been on the “auction trail” too much recently, so I’m extremely excited.  Sometimes in life you just have to take chances, sometimes you just need to simply PROVE to yourself that you can STILL make it happen, even if you already KNOW the answer to that is OF COURSE you can!  I should be able to share my more detailed thoughts with you right here in this blog this weekend!

STAY TUNED!

I Realize This Won’t Be My Most Popular Blog Ever, And I’m Fine With That! Stop Wasting Your Time!

To me it seems people are just completely full of contradictions! Some may say how they don’t have time to get things done, but that same person will later say how it’s “time to watch the game,” or how they’re either doing great or not so great in their “Fantasty Sports” league.  I mean really, fantasy sports? What are we, twelve years old?

It is no hidden fact that I simply don’t care whatsoever for sports.  If you ask me sports are a great way to get exercise, but what is the point of watching them?  You have people out there that know the names of each quarterback for each team, can tell you how many yards some running back ran the last few seasons, but don’t get why they aren’t reaching their goals or don’t have the time to grow their business.  It’s almost unbelievable to me!

GETABRAIN

I’m not just going to single out sports fans, but I see a lot of other ways which people are wasting their time as well.  First and foremost, cable and movies!  It has now been several years since I cancelled my cable and I have never looked back.  With the Internet these days you can search and find pretty much ANYTHING you want to watch, at no additional cost other than paying for your Internet service.  For example shows on NBC, CBS, History Channel, Comedy Central, and others can all be found on their website.  During the shows advertisements are shown, but MANY less than you see on cable!  Some may argue that you have to watch it on your laptop or desktop, but simply not true these days!  You can hook it up to your HDTV with an HDMI cable and it’s the same experience, actually, I believe it’s much better! Can’t afford an HDTV or an HDMI cable? You will be able to if you don’t spend $100 or more each month on some bullshit cable service!

Certain, and actually these days MOST, Blu-Ray players also come with built in streaming capabilities.  We’re talking apps that stream FREE movies, music, a YouTube app which you can search anything you wish, movie trailers, you name it.

Back when I actually had cable television I often found myself laying around, being an absolute bum, “channel surfing.”  Every now and then I do catch a show these days, but let me tell you, not often at all.  In the last month for example, I can’t recall one television show which I have watched.  These days I limit myself to certain podcasts & YouTube content, all with the intent of learning things to help grow and enhance my business.

The only service I do still pay for is Netflix.  I don’t do the streaming, as to me that’s just another way to hold yourself back.  I simply get one DVD/Blu-Ray at a time in the mail, and enjoy those with my girlfriend.  She is still a big consumer of content, and really enjoys watching “crime shows,” again something I don’t get, but I realize I can’t change everyone completely!  However we do save the money as she’s smart enough to watch those via their websites!  Thanks to Netflix we save even more money as we hardly ever go to movie theaters anymore, we just simply wait for them to be released on Blu-Ray which these days doesn’t take too long.  A good example is the last movie we watched, “The Dark Knight Rises.”  Netflix also offers television shows on DVD/Blu-Ray, and a good example of that is our favorite show, and pretty much the only one we watch together, “Dexter.”

My intention of this blog post is again not to bash ANYONE, but simply attempt to help some understand what I consider to be their “mistakes.”  If you cancel your cable, you will save tons of money, and as long as you have an Internet service you will still be able to obtain the same content.  Not even to mention the fact that you won’t be getting the media’s propaganda shoved down your throats, but that’s another blog all together!

As far as sports, I do realize I am in the minority, but based on the simple facts of what I have been able to accomplish because of not watching them, I feel the need to share my opinions.  If you are a die hard sports fan I don’t expect this blog to change that one bit.  I do however hope it helps you realize exactly WHY you aren’t achieving certain goals, why you THINK you don’t have enough time to accomplish things, and to simply HOPE it helps some stop complaining and blaming other causes or people!

In closing, YOUR problem as to why your dreams aren’t being reached, get this, is most likely YOU!

One last little piece of motivation thanks to my man Gary Vaynerchuk (@GaryVee)
